Terms of service
What you can expect from RPG MasterTool, and what it expects of you. Written to be read by a person at a table rather than by a lawyer defending one.

What this is
- RPG MasterTool is a tool for running tabletop roleplaying games: a turn order, character sheets, a shared table and the notes around it.
- It is provided by Soheili Labs. Using it means agreeing to what is on this page.
- It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed by any game publisher. Bring your own rules.
Your account
- You need an email address and a password. Nothing else is asked for.
- One person, one account. Keep the password to yourself; anything done with it is treated as done by you.
- You must be old enough to agree to this where you live. If a table includes children, the adult running it is responsible for them.
- You can close your account at any time, from the Dashboard. It is immediate and nobody can undo it, including us.
What you write stays yours
- Campaigns, characters, notes and everything else you make remain yours. No ownership is claimed over any of it.
- Permission is needed only to store it, show it to the people you invited, and back it up — which is what running the service consists of.
- You can export everything from your account at any time, and take it elsewhere.
- Do not upload what you have no right to: somebody else’s published material, or anything unlawful.
Tables and other people
- A Game Master who creates a campaign controls it, and can invite, remove and hand characters to whoever they choose.
- Closing your account deletes the tables you run, including other people’s characters on them. The app says so plainly before you do it.
- Tables you merely play at keep going without you.
- What people say to each other at a table is between them. Invitations go only to addresses a Game Master types in.
What not to do with it
- Do not use it to harass anybody, or to store or send anything unlawful.
- Do not try to reach another table’s data, break the sign-in, or probe the service for weaknesses without asking first. Ask first and you will probably be told yes.
- Do not resell access, or run it as a service of your own.
- An account doing any of these can be suspended or closed. Where it is a misunderstanding, expect to be asked about it first.
What is and is not promised
- It runs on one server. There is no uptime guarantee, and there will be maintenance.
- Backups are taken nightly and kept off-site, encrypted. They exist to recover the service, not as a personal archive — export your own data if it matters to you.
- Features change, and some will be removed. Anything that would lose your data gets notice first.
- It is provided as it is. Nobody is promising it is fit for any particular purpose, and liability is limited to what you have paid for it.
Money
- It is free at the moment, and there is nothing to pay.
- If that changes, existing accounts will be told before any charge, and nothing already stored will be held hostage to it.
- No payment details are asked for or stored today. There is no billing system.
Ending it
- You can stop at any time by closing your account.
- The service can be withdrawn, in which case you will be told with enough notice to export your campaigns.
- An account closed for breaking the rules above may not be given that notice.
The legal bits
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts.
- If part of this page turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
- Changed terms are published here with a new date. Continuing to use the app after that is how you accept them.
